Problem statement

In this program, we will create a Vector collection with string elements. Then we will get the first element of vector collection using the firstElement() method.

Source Code

The source code to get the first element of Vector using the firstElement() method is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

// Java program to get the first element of Vector
// using the firstElement() method

import java.util.*;

public class Main {
  public static void main(String[] args) {
    Vector < String > vec = new Vector < String > ();

    vec.add("CAR");
    vec.add("BUS");
    vec.add("BIKE");
    vec.add("BUS");
    vec.add("TRUCK");

    System.out.println("First Element: " + vec.firstElement());
  }
}

Output

First Element: CAR

Explanation

In the above program, we imported the "java.util.*" package to use the Vector class. Here, we created a public class Main.

The Main class contains a main() method. The main() method is the entry point for the program. And, created a Vector collection vec with string elements. Then we used the firstElement() method to get the first element of vector collection and printed the result.
