Golang program to read one byte from the file using buffer reader ReadByte() function
Here, we are going to learn how to read one byte from the file using buffer reader ReadByte() function in Golang (Go Language)?

Reading one byte from the file in Golang
Problem Solution:
In this program, we will open a file and create a buffer-reader using file pointer and then read data byte by byte using ReadByte() function and print data on the console screen.
Program/Source Code:
The source code to read one byte from the file using the buffer-reader ReadByte() function is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.
Golang code to read one byte from the file using buffer reader ReadByte() function
// Golang program to read one byte from the file
// using buffer reader ReadByte() function
package main
import "fmt"
import "os"
import "bufio"
func main() {
filePtr, err := os.Open("Demo.txt")
if err != nil {
fmt.Println(err)
}
bufferedReader := bufio.NewReader(filePtr)
data, err := bufferedReader.ReadByte()
if err != nil {
fmt.Println(err)
}
fmt.Printf("One byte data: %c\n", data)
data, err = bufferedReader.ReadByte()
if err != nil {
fmt.Println(err)
}
fmt.Printf("One byte data: %c\n", data)
filePtr.Close()
}
Output:
One byte data: H
One byte data: e
Explanation:
In the above program, we declare the package main. The main package is used to tell the Go language compiler that the package must be compiled and produced the executable file. Here, we imported the fmt, os packages then we can use a function related to the fmt and os package.
Here, we also imported the bufio package to use buffer writer to write data into a file.
In the main() function, we opened the "Demo.txt" file and then create the buffer-reader using NewReader() function and read data byte by byte using the ReadByte() function, and print the data on the console screen.
