Getting the index of a character in the string in Golang
Problem Solution:
In this program, we will get the index of the specified character in the string using strings.Index() function and print result on the console screen.
Program/Source Code:
The source code to get the index of the specified character in the string is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.
Golang code to get the index of a specified character in the string
// Golang program to get the index of a
// specified character in the string.
package main
import "fmt"
import "strings"
func main() {
var str string = "Hello World"
var ind int = 0
ind = strings.Index(str, "W")
fmt.Println("Index is: ", ind)
}
Output:
Index is: 6
Explanation:
In the above program, we declare the package main. The main package is used to tell the Go language compiler that the package must be compiled and produced the executable file. Here, we imported the fmt package that includes the files of package fmt then we can use a function related to the fmt package.
In the main() function, we created two variables str and ind, which are initialized with "Hello World", 0 respectively. Then we got the index of a specified character in a string using strings.Index() function and printed the result on the console screen.
