How to get the date, month, year in different variables in Golang?

Problem Solution:

In this program, we will get the date, month, year in the different variables using the Date() function. The Date() function returns three variables in YYYY,MONTH,DD format.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to get the date, month, year in different variables is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

Golang code to get the date, month, year in different variables using Date() function

// Golang program to get current date
// using Date() function

package main

import "fmt"
import "time"

func main() {

	YYYY, MM, DD := time.Now().Date()
	fmt.Println("Date : ", DD)
	fmt.Println("Month: ", MM)
	fmt.Println("Year : ", YYYY)
}

Output:

Date :  21
Month:  March
Year :  2021

Explanation:

In the above program, we declare the package main. The main package is used to tell the Go language compiler that the package must be compiled and produced the executable file. Here, we imported the fmt package that includes the files of package fmt then we can use a function related to the fmt package.

In the main() function, we called time.Now().Date() function to get current date. The Date() function returns the date, month, year. Then we assigned the result in YYYY, MM, DD variables and print the result on the console screen.
