Finding the largest number between two numbers in Golang

In this program, we will read two integer numbers from the user and find the largest number from both numbers, and print the largest number on the console screen.

Golang code to find the largest number between two numbers

The source code to find the largest number between the two numbers is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

// Golang program to find the largest number between two numbers

package main
import "fmt"

func main() {
    var num1 int=0
    var num2 int=0
    var large int=0

    fmt.Printf("Enter number1: ")
    fmt.Scanf("%d",&num1)

    fmt.Printf("Enter number2: ")
    fmt.Scanf("%d",&num2)

    if(num1>num2){
        large=num1
    }else{
        large=num2
    }

    fmt.Printf("Largest number is: %d",large)
}

Output

Enter number1: 10
Enter number2: 20
Largest number is: 20

Explanation

In the above program, we declare the package main. The main package is used to tell the Go language compiler that the package must be compiled and produced the executable file. Here, we imported the fmt package that includes the files of package fmt then we can use a function related to the fmt package.

Here, we created the main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program. In the main() function, we created three variables num1, num2, large, which are initialized with 0. Then we read the values of variables from the user. After that, we checked both numbers and find the largest number, and print the largest number on the console screen.
