How to create a specified directory with specified permission in Golang?

Problem Solution:

In this program, we will create a specified directory with specified permission in the given path using os.Mkdir() function.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to create a specified directory with specified permission is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

Golang code to create a specified directory with specified permission

// Golang program to create a specified directory
// with specified permission

package main

import "fmt"
import "os"

func main() {
	err := os.Mkdir("MyDir", 0666)
	if err != nil {
		fmt.Println("Unable to create directory")
	} else {
		fmt.Println("'MyDir' directory created successfully")
	}
}

Output:

'MyDir' directory created successfully

Explanation:

In the above program, we declare the package main. The main package is used to tell the Go language compiler that the package must be compiled and produced the executable file. Here, we imported the fmt, os packages then we can use a function related to the fmt and os package.

In the main() function, we created the "MyDir" directory using os.Mkdir() function with specified "0666" permission and then print "'MyDir' directory created successfully" message on the console screen.
