Converting a string into float in Golang
Problem Solution:
In this program, we will convert the string into a float integer number using the strconv.ParseFloat() function and print the result on the console screen.
Program/Source Code:
The source code to convert a string into a float number using ParseFloat() function is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.
Golang code to convert a numerical string into a float number
// Golang program to convert string into float number
// using ParseFloat() function
package main
import (
"fmt"
"strconv"
)
func main() {
var str string
var num float64
fmt.Print("Enter string number: ")
fmt.Scanf("%s", &str)
num, _ = strconv.ParseFloat(str, 64)
fmt.Println("Num : ", num)
}
Output:
Enter string number: 11.74
Num : 11.74
Explanation:
In the above program, we declare the package main. The main package is used to tell the Go language compiler that the package must be compiled and produced the executable file. Here, we imported the fmt package that includes the files of package fmt then we can use a function related to the fmt package.
In the above program, we also imported strconv to use the string conversion function.
In the main() function, we read a string from the user and convert it into 64 float number, and then print the result on the console screen.
