Scala – Get Bytes Array from String

Here, we will create a string, and then we will get the bytes array of string using the getBytes() method and print array on the console screen.

Scala code to get bytes array from string using getBytes() method

The source code to get bytes array from string using getBytes() method is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

// Scala program to get bytes from string
// using getBytes() method

object Sample {
  def main(args: Array[String]) {
    var str = "ABCD";
    var arr = new Array[Byte](4);

    var i: Int = 0;

    arr = str.getBytes();

    println("Bytes of string: ");
    while (i < 4) {
      printf("%d ", arr(i));
      i = i + 1;
    }
    println();
  }
}

Output

Bytes of string:
65 66 67 68

Explanation

In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. And, we created an object Sample. Here, we defined main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created a string str and a byte array arr. And, we used the getBytes() method to get the byte array corresponding to the string and then printed the byte array using the while loop on the console screen.
