Scala – Clear StringBuilder String

Here, we will create a string using the StringBuilder class and then we will clear the content of the string using the clear() method.

Scala code to clear the content of StringBuilder string

The source code to clear the content of the StringBuilder string is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

// Scala program to clear the content of
// StringBuilder string

object Sample {
  def main(args: Array[String]) {
    val str = new StringBuilder("Hello World");

    printf("String is: %s\n", str);

    //clear the content of string.
    str.clear();

    printf("String is: %s\n", str);
  }
}

Output

String is: Hello World
String is:

Explanation

In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. And, we created an object Sample. Here, we defined main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created an immutable string str using the StringBuilder class, which is initialized with "Hello World". Then we printed string on the console screen. After that, we clear the content of the string using the clear() method and printed the empty string on the console screen.
