Problem Solution:

In this program, we will get the current week-number of the year, starting with the first Monday as the first day of the first week using the strftime() method of Time class and print the result.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to get the current week-number of the year using the strftime() method is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

# Ruby program to get the current week-number of the year,
# starting with the first Monday as the first day of
# the first week

time = Time.new();
CurrentWeekNumberOfYear = time.strftime("%W");

print "Current week-number of the year is: ",CurrentWeekNumberOfYear;

Output:

Current week-number of the year is: 06

Explanation:

In the above program, we created the object of the Time class. Then we got the current week-number of the year out of 365 using the strftime() method with "%W" as an argument and printed the result.
