Problem Solution:

Here, we will insert a character into the string using the insert() function and print the updated string on the console screen.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to insert a character into the string is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

// Swift program to insert a character into string

var str = "HelloHerry"
var ch :Character = "-"
var i = str.index(str.startIndex, offsetBy: 5)

str.insert(ch,at:i)

print(str)

Output:

Hello-Herry

...Program finished with exit code 0
Press ENTER to exit console.

Explanation:

In the above program, we imported a package Swift to use the print() function using the below statement,

import Swift;

Here, we created a string str initialized with "HelloHerry". Then we inserted a character '-' into the string at index 5 using the insert() function and printed the updated string on the console screen.
