Scala program to find the smallest number using scala.math.min() function
Here, we are going to learn how to find the smallest number using scala.math.min() function in Scala programming language?

scala.math.min() Function Example
Here, we will read two double numbers from the user and find the smallest number between two numbers using scala.math.min() function and print the result on the console screen.
Scala code to find the smallest number using scala.math.min() function
Here, we will read two double numbers from the user and find the smallest number between two numbers using scala.math.min() function and print the result on the console screen.
// Scala program to find the smallest number using
// scala.math.min() function
object Sample{
def main(args:Array[String]){
var num1:Double = 0;
var num2:Double = 0;
var minNum:Double = 0;
print("Enter number1: ")
num1=scala.io.StdIn.readDouble()
print("Enter number2: ")
num2=scala.io.StdIn.readDouble()
minNum= scala.math.min(num1,num2)
println("Minimum number: "+minNum);
}
}
Output
Enter number1: 16.34
Enter number2: 23.567
Minimum number: 16.34
Explanation
In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. Here, we created an object Sample. We defined main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.
In the main() function, we created three variables num1, num2, minNum that are initialized with 0. Then we read both numbers from the user and then we find the smallest number using scala.math.min() function and printed the result on the console screen.
Here, scala.math is a package that contains the definition of min() function.
