Problem Solution:

In this program, we will read a floating-point number from the user using gets.chomp.to_f and print the input number.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to read a floating-point number from the user is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

# Ruby program to read a floating-point number
# from the user

num=0.0;

print "Enter floating point number: ";
num = gets.chomp.to_f;

print "Number is: ",num;

Output:

Enter floating point number: 2.34
Number is: 2.34

Explanation:

In the above program, we created a variable num initialized with 0.0. Then we read a floating-point number from the user using gets.chomp.to_f and printed the input number.
