GregorianCalendar Class computeFields() method
- computeFields() method is available in java.util package.
- computeFields() method is used to compute the calendar fields and as we know that to compute the time again and then calendar fields and then call complete() method.
- computeFields() method is a non-static method, it is accessible with class object only and if we try to access the method with class name then we will get an error.
- computeFields() method does not throw an exception at the time of computing fields.
Syntax:
protected void computeFields();
Parameter(s):
- It does not accept any parameter.
Return value:
The return type of this method is void, it returns nothing.
Example:
// Java program to demonstrate the example
// of void computeFields() method of
// GregorianCalendar
import java.util.*;
public class ComputeFieldOfGregorianCalendar extends GregorianCalendar {
public static void main(String[] args) {
// Instantiating a ComputeFieldOfGregorianCalendar object
ComputeFieldOfGregorianCalendar ca = new ComputeFieldOfGregorianCalendar();
// Display current ComputeFieldOfGregorianCalendar
System.out.println("ca: " + ca.getTime());
// By using clear(int fi) method to set the
// field unset
ca.clear(GregorianCalendar.MONTH);
// Display calendar
System.out.println("ca.clear(GregorianCalendar.MONTH): " + ca.getTime());
// By using set() method is to set a month
//and invoke computeFields()
ca.set(GregorianCalendar.MONTH, 6);
ca.computeFields();
// Display calendar
System.out.println("ca.set(GregorianCalendar.MONTH,6): " + ca.getTime());
}
}
Output
ca: Sat Feb 15 07:17:20 GMT 2020
ca.clear(GregorianCalendar.MONTH): Wed Jan 15 07:17:20 GMT 2020
ca.set(GregorianCalendar.MONTH,6): Wed Jan 15 07:17:20 GMT 2020
