What is the full form of TVS?

TVS is an abbreviation of Thirukkurungudi Vengaram Sundram. It is a multinational motorcycle business corporation, which is one of the largest manufacturers of motorcycles, mopeds, and auto-rickshaws in India. Thirukkurungudi Vengaram Sundram Iyengar was the founder of the TVS group. Accordingly, the name TVS arrives from his primary name Thirukkurungudi Vengaram Sundram. TVS head office is situated in Chennai. It is also listed in NSE and BSE.

TVS History
- In 1911, T.V. Sundaram Iyengar established T.V.S, a company in the transportation business with a huge convoy of trucks and buses under the name of Southern Roadways and started with Madurai's first bus service.
- In 1972, Sundaram Clayton was established in partnership with Clayton Dewandre Holdings, United Kingdom.
- In 1980, TVS 50, India's first two-seater moped moved out of the industrial unit at Hosur in Tamil Nadu, Southern India.
- In 2016, TVS began manufacturing the BMW G310R, a model co-developed with BMW Motorrad after their planned joint venture in April 2013.
- On 6 December 2017, TVS introduced its most-awaited motorcycle, the Apache RR 310 in an event at Chennai.
TVS Awards
- In 2002, TVS Motor won the prestigious Deming Application Prize.
- In the same year, TVS Motor won the National Award for the successful commercialization of native technology from the Technology Development Board, Ministry of Science & Technology, and Government of India.
- In 2004, TVS Scooty Pep won the 'Outstanding Design Excellence Award' from BusinessWorld magazine and the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.
- In 2004, the company's chairman, Venu Srinivasan, was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Science degree by The University of Warwick, United Kingdom.
- In 2008, TVS Motor won the TPM Excellence Award given by the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance for the effectual execution of Total Productivity Maintenance applications.
- In 2010, the Government of India honored him with Padma Shri, one of India's highest civilian merits.
- In 2007, pioneering execution of Information Technology has won TVS Motor the Ace Award for the majority of pioneering Net Weaver execution, honored by technology major SAP AG and the Team Tech 2007 Award of Excellence for
- Integrated use of Computer-aided engineering Technologies.
- Himalayan Highs, an initiative introduced by TVS Motor Company has been incorporated in the India Book of Records when Anam Hashim turned out to be the first woman on a 110 cc scooter to complete the trip to Khardung La, the world's highest motorable stretch.
