GPA: Grade Point Average

GPA is an abbreviation of Grade Point Average. It alludes to a grading system in education which is used to determine the performance average of students in an academic session in schools and colleges. It is a numerical mark that gives a brief statement of the key points of the academic performance or presentation of the students in an academic year.

The calculation of GPA varies in different types of schools and other educational institutions on the range of different scales. The measurement goes in some schools are on a scale of 1 to 5 and in some other educational institutions on a scale of 1 to 10. The average sum up number of GPA constitutes the average value of the all complete final grades received in a course or subject or an academic performance over a certain period.

Some organizations also used this for the quality of being appropriate and fitting for job of a candidate; by separating from performance, the GPA in academics is also contemplated in the interview by these organizations for hiring processes.

The efficiency of a candidate cannot be measured by GPA. It can be used to determine the performance and evaluation of the candidate. The recent researches and studies on GPA have found that there is no relation between the performance of an employee and his or her GPA.

Advantages of GPA

Disadvantages of GPA
