CERT: Computer Emergency Response Team

CERT is an abbreviation of the "Computer Emergency Response Team". It is also known as the Computer Emergency Readiness Team and Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT). It is a significant term for an organized group of professional skilled specialists, which manages the system of computer-related safety and protection based events and occurrences.

CERT History

In 1988, the term "Computer Emergency Response Team" was first time used by the CERT Coordination Center (CERT-CC) at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU).
The official authorized license of CERT is provided by CMU to a variety of organizations that are carrying out the tasks of a CSIRT.
On 3 November 1988, the so-called Morris Worm caused to make incapable a fine proportion of the internet.
Due to the attack of Morris Worm, the first computer emergency response team was created at Carnegie Mellon University under the agreement of the United States government.
