CBSE: Central Board of Secondary Education

CBSE is an abbreviation of the Central Board of Secondary Education. It is one of the most significant board in public and private schools in India. Rakesh Kumar Chaturvedi is the former chairman of CBSE from July 2016- 2017. The current chairperson is Anita Karawal from 2017. She is a Gujarat cadre IAS officer of 1988 batch. CBSE head office is situated in New Delhi and except its head office; CBSE also comprises some other regional offices in Delhi, Chennai, Guwahati, Allahabad, Ajmer, Panchkula, etc.

CBSE Key Objectives

  • To describe suitable academic moves towards stress-free, holistic and child-centered education without any compromisation on standard class.
  • To examine and evaluate the eminence of academic activities based on pointer collected from different stakeholders.
  • To suggest strategies to advance education in schools regular with the National objectives.
  • To arrange and control capability structuring programs to bring up to date skills and professional proficiency in teachers.
  • To set down the plan and conditions of exams and carry out final exams of 10th and 12th class.
  • To set down and renew the guidelines or instructions for CBSE examinations.
  • To associate the institutions who completes the requirements of CBSE.

CBSE History

On 3 November 1962, CBSE was founded. It is associated with all Kendriya Vidyalayas, all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, private schools and the majority of the schools which are officially permitted by the Central Government of India.

CBSE Examinations

  • The Central Board of Secondary Education carries out every year final examination for class 10th and 12th students.
  • Every year it also carries out AIEEE which is the All India Engineering Entrance Examination. On the national level, it is a competitive examination for admission into a variety of undergraduate courses in engineering and architecture.
  • Every year it also carries out All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) which is a competitive examination for admission in most significant medical colleges across India.
  • Every year it also carries out the Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET) to employ teachers for central schools.
  • Every year it also carries out the National Eligibility Test (NET) for the selection of professors at colleges and universities and the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for the selection of school teachers.
