B.Ed: Bachelor of Education
B.Ed is an abbreviation of Bachelor of Education. It is a bachelor's professional degree in education for the students who want to do under graduation to build a career in teaching. Previously, the degree is called a Bachelor of Teaching (BT). After completing the course of B.Ed whose course duration is for two years, the students get qualified for the occupation of the teacher in intermediate and high schools. It is the most significant prerequisite in India at the level of high school for any graduate to become a teacher.

Eligibility for B.Ed
The clearance of the entrance exam of B.Ed is a must for a person who wants to study the B.Ed course. The students who have completed their undergraduate degree in some other bachelor's degree course are also qualified for the B.Ed exams.
For example, the students who acquire Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Bachelor of Science (B. Sc) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degree are qualified for B.Ed entrance exams conducted by different universities and colleges in India. The students also needed to have at least 50 % marks in graduation.
After the completion of B.Ed degree course, the students become qualified for M.Ed (Master of Education). The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) is the constitutional body that keeps track of the educational courses offered by different teacher training institutes in India.
