Scala – Replace a Substring into StringBuilder String

Here, we will create a string using the StringBuilder class and then we will replace the substring into the string using replace() method. After that, we will print the result on the console screen.

Scala code to replace a substring into StringBuilder string

The source code to replace a substring into the StringBuilder string is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

// Scala program to replace a substring
// into StringBuilder string

object Sample {
  def main(args: Array[String]) {
    val str = new StringBuilder("This is india");

    printf("String is: '%s'\n", str);

    str.replace(8, 14, "USA");

    printf("String is: '%s'\n", str);
  }
}

Output

String is: 'This is india'
String is: 'This is USA'

Explanation

In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. And, we created an object Sample. Here, we defined main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created an immutable string str using StringBuilder class, which is initialized with "This is india". Then we replaced substring "india" with "USA" into the string using replace() method. After that, we printed the result on the console screen.
