rand.Intn() function in Golang

Problem Solution:

Here, we will demonstrate the use of rand.Intn() function. The rand.Intn() function returns a random number between 0-N. Here, N is the specified number in function rand.Intn().

Program/Source Code:

The source code to demonstrate the rand.Intn() function is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

Golang code to demonstrate the example of rand.Intn() function

// Golang program to demonstrate the
// rand.Intn() function

package main

import "math/rand"
import "fmt"

//Entry point for the program
func main() {
	fmt.Println("Random number: ", rand.Intn(786))
	fmt.Println("Random number: ", rand.Intn(786))
	fmt.Println("Random number: ", rand.Intn(786))
	fmt.Println("Random number: ", rand.Intn(786))
}

Output:

RUN 1:
Random number:  143
Random number:  279
Random number:  293
Random number:  371

Explanation:

In the above program, we declare the package main. The main package is used to tell the Go language compiler that the package must be compiled and produced the executable file. Here, we imported the required packages to predefined functions.

In the main() function, we used rand.Intn() function with argument value 786 four times. The rand.Intn() function returns the random number between 0-786. After that, we printed the result on the console screen.
