Class class isAnonymousClass() method

  • isAnonymousClass() method is available in java.lang package.
  • isAnonymousClass() method is used to check whether the underlying class is anonymous or not.
  • isAnonymousClass() method is a non-static method, it is accessible with the class object only and if we try to access the method with the class name then we will get an error.
  • isAnonymousClass() method does not throw an exception at the time of checking anonymous class.

Syntax:

    public boolean isAnonymousClass();

Parameter(s):

  • It does not accept any parameter.

Return value:

The return type of this method is boolean, it returns a boolean value based on the following cases,

  • It returns true, when the underlying class is an anonymous class.
  • It returns false, when the underlying class is not an anonymous class.

Example:

public class IsAnonymousClassOfClass {
    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
        String str = new String();
        Class cl1 = str.getClass();

        IsAnonymousClassOfClass ac = new IsAnonymousClassOfClass();
        Class cl2 = ac.getClass();

        boolean b1 = cl1.isAnonymousClass();
        System.out.println("Is" + " " + cl1.getSimpleName() + " " + "Anonymous Class: " + " " + b1);

        boolean b2 = cl2.isAnonymousClass();
        System.out.println("Is" + " " + cl2.getSimpleName() + " " + "Anonymous Class: " + " " + b2);

Output
