Submitted by Nidhi, on March 31, 2022

Problem statement

Given milliseconds, we have to get the date from it using Date.setTime() method.

Source Code

The source code to get a date from milliseconds using the Date.setTime() method is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

// Java program to get a date from milliseconds
// using Date.setTime() method

import java.util.*;

public class Main {
  public static void main(String[] args) {
    Date date = new Date();

    System.out.println("Current Date: " + date);

    date.setTime(732153600000L);
    System.out.println("Date from specified milliseconds: " + date);
  }
}

Output

Current Date: Thu Mar 31 15:40:23 GMT 2022
Date from specified milliseconds: Mon Mar 15 00:00:00 GMT 1993

Explanation

In the above program, we imported the "java.util.*" package to use the Date class. Here, we created a class Main that contains a static method main(). The main() method is the entry point for the program, here we created an object of the Date class, and used the setTime() method to get the date from specified milliseconds. Then we printed the corresponding date.
