Here, we are going to demonstrate pointer to a structure in Golang (Go Language).

Pointer to a structure in Golang

Problem Solution:

In this program, we will create an array of integers and pointer to an array and access the elements of the array using the pointer.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to demonstrate a pointer to an array is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

Golang code to implement pointer to a structure

// Golang program to demonstrate
// the pointer to a structure

package main
import "fmt"

type Student struct {
    stuid int
    name  string
}

func main() {
    std := Student{101,"Mark"}

    ptr := &std

    fmt.Println(ptr)
    fmt.Println("Student Id: ",(*ptr).stuid)
    fmt.Println("Student Name: ",(*ptr).name)
}

Output:

&{101 Mark}
Student Id:  101
Student Name:  Mark

Explanation:

In the above program, we declare the package main. The main package is used to tell the Go language compiler that the package must be compiled and produced the executable file. Here, we imported the fmt package that includes the files of package fmt then we can use a function related to the fmt package.

type Student struct {
    stuid int
    name  string
}

In the above code, we created a structure Student that contains two members stuid, name.

In the main() function, we created the object of structure and then initialized the pointer ptr with the address of the object and then printed the members of the structure on the console screen.
